India, Oct. 22 -- For small shopkeepers, micro-enterprises and rural entrepreneurs, a bank loan is hard to get. Branches are thin on the ground, paperwork is heavy and there is little formal credit history to go on. Non-bank lenders have stepped into that gap with local distribution, quicker decisions and, increasingly, partnerships with banks that supply cheaper funds.
