India, Oct. 29 -- For years, console gaming in India meant an expensive box that few could afford. The majority of Indians play on their phones, and the move to streaming games from remote servers promises console-quality play without the need for expensive hardware. That has put telecom companies, e-commerce platforms and device makers in the same race, because whoever gets to the player first can sell the hardware and the subscription behind it.
