India, Sept. 24 -- India's power grid is going through its biggest rebuild in a generation. Renewable capacity is being added faster than the wires that carry it, and the government has been handing transmission projects to private developers through competitive bidding to close that gap. For infrastructure companies, this opens a new lane.They no longer only build for others; they can bid for, own and run the substations and lines themselves.

Shares of Ashoka Buildcon Ltd were trading at Rs. 111.85, down 0.75 percent from previous close of Rs. 112.70. The stock opened at Rs. 112.25, reaching an intraday high of Rs. 112.40 and low of Rs. 111.45. The company currently has a market capitalization of Rs. 3,144 crores.
