India, Aug. 24 -- India's disinvestment drive has picked up pace over the past year, with the government selling shares in public-sector and formerly public-sector companies to raise funds. Companies in metals and mining, insurance, and infrastructure have all seen such sales, with timing usually depending on market conditions and share prices. Hindustan Zinc, where the government still holds a stake left over from its earlier privatisation, is now back in focus for a similar sale.
