India, Aug. 22 -- Tier-II cities are increasingly becoming the next growth centres as companies search for lower operating cost, more talent and location flexibility. While IT hiring in Bengaluru and NCR has seen a 12-15% growth over the past year, tier 2 cities such as Udaipur, Vizag, Coimbatore and Nagpur have seen over 50%.

Bengaluru continues to grow but its growth rate is being outpaced by the growth of the new IT hubs. Businesses can benefit from almost 30% cost savings with non-metro relocation. STPI centres have generated 2.98 lakh jobs in non-metro cities by March 2025 and 60 out of the 68 STPI centres are in Tier-II and Tier-III cities.
