India, Sept. 15 -- India's rolling-stock and metro supply chain has been consolidating in pockets over the last couple of years, as larger, listed component makers look to absorb smaller regional workshops that already hold the technical qualifications and customer relationships needed to bid on bigger projects. That route tends to be faster than building fresh manufacturing capacity and waiting years to get vendor-approved on a new platform.
