India, Aug. 26 -- Former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar has criticised the on-field conduct of young stars Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal, calling for stronger action against such incidents. Sooryavanshi was involved in a heated exchange with a Sri Lanka A player during a tri-series in June, while Jaiswal had a confrontation with Sri Lankan pacer Asitha Fernando on the opening day of the ongoing second Test in Colombo.

Jaiswal was fined 25% of his match fee by the ICC but avoided a suspension. Manjrekar questioned whether the punishment was strong enough, arguing that lenient action could send the wrong message and potentially encourage similar behaviour from young cricketers in the future.
