India, July 26 -- After nearly a decade, Kahaani is reportedly set to return with a fresh chapter. Yami Gautam has reportedly been roped in to headline Kahaani 3 while Sujoy Ghosh returns as director. But there's one big twist for fans of the franchise-Vidya Balan's iconic character is not expected to be part of the new story.

What Will Kahaani 3 Be About?

Unlike the previous films, the third instalment is reportedly being developed as an entirely new mystery set within the same Kahaani universe rather than a continuation of Vidya Balan's character.
