India, Sept. 24 -- Chinese President Xi Jinping has arrived in Washington, DC, for a three-day visit focused on the relationship between the world's two largest economies.

US President Donald Trump personally welcomed Xi at Joint Base Andrews on Wednesday, ahead of talks expected to cover trade, Taiwan, artificial intelligence and other major geopolitical issues. The visit comes as Washington and Beijing have agreed to extend an 11-month trade arrangement that had provided temporary relief from steep tariffs imposed during their economic standoff.
