India, Aug. 24 -- The Wuhan Open 2026 has produced plenty of action from the opening rounds, with a surprise exit for top seed Wu Yize and wins for some of snooker's biggest names. Ronnie O'Sullivan, Judd Trump and Mark Williams have all been in the spotlight in China on August 24, Monday.

Artemijs Zizins Shocks Wu Yize

The biggest surprise came in the last 64, where 20-year-old Latvian player Artemijs Zizins picked up the biggest win of his career so far. Ranked No. 116 in the world, Zizins beat Wu Yize 5-4 in a deciding frame.

Zizins took an early 3-1 lead with breaks of 58 and two 85s. Wu then fought back, making breaks of 129 and 87 to move 4-3 ahead.
