India, June 21 -- World Music Day 2026, also known as Fete de la Musique or Make Music Day, is being celebrated on 21 June 2026 (Sunday) across the globe. The day emphasises people enjoying, performing, dancing, and listening to music freely to promote harmony by uniting together through the language of melody and rhythm.

History

World Music Day originated in 1982 in France. The movement was founded by Jack Lang, French Minister for Culture, and music director Maurice Fleuret.
