India, June 19 -- Holger Rune, who is yet to step onto the court in 2026, has withdrawn from Wimbledon 2026, dealing another blow to the grass-court Grand Slam. The former world No. 4 joins a depleted men's singles draw that will miss multiple marquee stars for the event starting on June 30.

The 23-year-old Danish star has been sidelined from tennis since October 18, 2025, when he ruptured his Achilles tendon during the Stockholm Open semifinals. Although his team revealed that his tendon rehabilitation is progressing exceptionally well and scanning cleanly, a secondary knee issue sustained during intensive comeback training last month forced Rune to delay his return.
