India, June 22 -- A large fire in Widnes has sent thick smoke high into the sky, with residents across Merseyside and even parts of Liverpool reporting dark plumes visible for miles. The blaze, which broke out on Everite Road, has quickly escalated into a major emergency response involving multiple fire crews.

Scale of the Blaze

Firefighters are dealing with an intense incident involving around 700 tonnes of waste cardboard inside a single-storey industrial building. The structure, measuring roughly 50 metres by 50 metres, has been engulfed rapidly, with officials warning that conditions inside are extremely unstable.
