India, June 16 -- Following widespread rumors of paper leaks, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has placed a temporary ban on Telegram in India. The restriction comes ahead of the NEET UG 2026 re-examination, which is scheduled for June 21. The Telegram ban will be lifted once the exam and its immediate conclude on June 22. This decisive move by the Union Ministry follows several paper leak rumors that have surfaced across the country over the last few weeks.
