India, May 14 -- The long awaited and dramatic Kerala CM race ends as UDF's huge election win leads to the Congress high command choosing VD Satheesan as the new Chief Minister of 'God's Own Country'. Yet as Congress workers celebrated all over the state, senior veteran Ramesh Chennithala allegedly found himself extremely disappointed over the party's final decision.

The days of uncertainty, factional lobbying, protests, posters and public campaigns inside the Congress camp culminated in the final selection of Satheesan. Though he is the popular choice among a section of party workers and the public, the decision seems to have left a veteran like Chennithala feeling sidelined after decades of party loyalty.
