India, Sept. 24 -- The UK equity market faced pressure on Thursday, September 24, 2026, with the FTSE 100 falling in its initial trading sessions amid increased yields in government bonds, higher prices of crude oil, and renewed fears of inflation and interest rate hikes.

The FTSE 100 started trading at 10,708.79 points against its previous day close of 10,705.26 points. But the index lost ground and plunged by 0.4% to 10,666.91 points during initial sessions of trade. The FTSE 250 also suffered a loss of around 0.5%.
