India, Sept. 9 -- Indian stock markets remained under pressure on September 9, 2026, after benchmark indices fell sharply in the previous session. Rising crude oil prices, escalating tensions in West Asia, a weaker rupee and continued foreign investor selling are weighing on sentiment.
The BSE Sensex fell 555.23 points, or 0.73%, to close at 75,577.58 on Tuesday, September 8, while the Nifty 50 dropped 144.05 points, or 0.61%, to settle at 23,635.10. Both benchmarks closed at their lowest levels since June 12. For September 9, early market indicators showed to a cautious opening. GIFT Nifty was trading close to the previous Nifty close, while investors continued to observecrude oil prices and developments in the Middle East.
