India, Sept. 19 -- Pawan Sehrawat has been named India's new flag-bearer for the Asian Games opening ceremony on Saturday, replacing shot-putter Tajinderpal Singh Toor. Toor was originally set to lead the Indian contingent alongside shooting star Manu Bhaker, but he will miss the ceremony after not receiving his official ceremonial kit in time to attend the event.
Sehrawat, 30, will now join Bhaker at the head of India's contingent during the opening ceremony. The experienced kabaddi player was part of the Indian men's team that won gold at the previous Asian Games, making his selection another significant moment for the national contingent. Chef-de-mission Sahdev Yadav confirmed the change to PTI.
