India, Sept. 23 -- India Stock Market Today (September 23, 2026): The Indian stock market opened higher on Wednesday. Both the Sensex and Nifty rose in trade after they had fallen in the previous session. At 9:16 am the Sensex stood at 74,692.59 rising by 163 points or 0.22%. At the time the Nifty 50 was at 23,385 gaining around 56.85 points or 0.24%. The gains happened even though foreign fund outflows continued.
