India, July 5 -- The United States of America received a huge boost ahead of their Round of 16 clash against Belgium, with striker Folarin Balogun being available despite being sent off in their win over Bosnia in the previous round. In the 2-0 victory, Balogun scored his third World Cup goal. However, he was sent off in the second half for putting his boot on Bosnia's Tarik Muharemovic's ankle. This meant that the United States played the rest of the knockout match with a man down. The 25-year-old was only sent off following a VAR review; according to Mauricio Pochettino, the U.S. coach, the incident should never have been a red card.

Why did FIFA reverse Folarin Balogun's red card?
