India, Aug. 9 -- Australia women's vice-captain Ashleigh Gardner is facing renewed scrutiny after her estranged wife, Monica Wright, criticised Cricket Australia's response to allegations surrounding Gardner's personal life. Wright, who publicly made the allegations in July, has questioned why the governing body has not taken action over the claims involving Gardner and teammate Georgia Voll.

Wright has also called for Gardner to lose her leadership position with the national team, arguing that the allegations should have consequences for the 29-year-old all-rounder.
