India, May 29 -- Liquor lovers in Delhi may have to wait longer before seeing bottles of Absolut Vodka and Chivas Regal return to store shelves. The Delhi High Court on Friday refused to grant relief to French liquor giant Pernod Ricard, keeping the company out of the capital's liquor market for now.

The legal setback comes as Pernod Ricard continues to face serious allegations linked to Delhi's controversial 2021 liquor policy case. Authorities have accused the company of working with retailers to increase its market share in the city illegally.

Because of the ongoing investigation, Pernod Ricard's major brands, including Absolut Vodka, Chivas Regal, Royal Stag, Ballantine's and Glenlivet, have remained unavailable in Delhi since 2023....
