India, Sept. 21 -- Sunderland midfielder and Switzerland captain Granit Xhaka is facing a legal investigation in Switzerland over allegations that he used a forged COVID-19 vaccination certificate. According to Swiss outlet Blick, the Lucerne public prosecutor's office has opened proceedings against Xhaka and a doctor from the region in connection with the suspected falsification of a health document.

The case could carry serious legal consequences if the allegations are proven.
