India, Sept. 11 -- The San Francisco 49ers began their 2026 NFL campaign in impressive fashion, cruising past the Los Angeles Rams 27-7 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Played in Australia as part of the NFL's international schedule, the Week 1 clash saw San Francisco take control early and leave little room for the Rams to mount a comeback.

Brock Purdy led the way for the 49ers, throwing for 205 yards and three touchdowns, although he also had one interception. The result gave San Francisco a 1-0 start and another important divisional win over the Rams, who have regularly produced tight contests against their NFC West rivals.
