India, May 8 -- Senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari is set to become the Chief Minister of West Bengal. He will be the first BJP Chief Minister of the state.

According to reports, Union Minister Amit Shah announced his name in the presence of newly elected BJP MLAs and senior party leaders. The oath ceremony of the newly elected BJP government will take place on May 9 at the Brigade Parade Ground in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and the chief ministers of NDA-ruled states.
