India, July 30 -- The release of the much-awaited Ramayana trailer has reignited interest in one of the epic's most debated and influential characters-Surpanakha, the sister of Ravana. While Lord Rama, Sita, and Ravana remain the central figures of the story, Surpanakha's encounter with Rama and Lakshmana is widely regarded as the turning point that eventually leads to the abduction of Sita and the great war between Rama and Ravana.

The recently released trailer offers a glimpse of Surpanakha, with Rakul Preet Singh portraying the character in director Nitesh Tiwari's adaptation. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Yash as Ravana and Sai Pallavi as Sita.
