India, Aug. 25 -- Sir Billy Boston, the rugby league legend who became the first former player from the sport to receive a knighthood last year, has died at the age of 92. The Wales Rugby Union confirmed his death, describing him as "one of the best loved and most iconic figures in the history of Welsh sport". Boston, who was born in Tiger Bay, passed away in hospital in his adopted home of Wigan, where he had lived for more than seven decades. His death came just four days after the funeral of his wife, Lady Joan, following 70 years of marriage.
