India, Sept. 30 -- Actor Chad Lowe and producer Kim Painter are mourning the death of their 13-year-old daughter, Fiona Hepler Lowe. The family confirmed Fiona's death in a statement shared with PEOPLE on Tuesday, September 29.

Family Remembers Fiona As 'The Light Of Our Lives'

In their statement, the Lowe family said, "We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona."

They described Fiona as "a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance."
