India, June 14 -- A surprising reunion awaits at the Kansas City Stadium when reigning World Cup champions Argentina clash against Algeria in their group stage opener. While Lionel Messi and Co. gear up for their title defence, FIFA has officially announced the referee for their opening game. Szymon Marciniak, who was in charge of the 2022 FIFA World Cup final, where the South American giants secured their third title by defeating France, is going to return in the Argentina vs Algeria clash. It will be Marciniak's third meeting with the Albiceleste. The Polish referee also officiated Argentina vs Australia in the Qatar World Cup.
