India, Aug. 9 -- Shakeel Noorani is a filmmaker who has worked in Hindi cinema as a writer as well as producer and director. He is probably most known for films like 'Bade Dil Wala' and 'Joru Ka Ghulam,' the second one featuring actors such as Govinda, Twinkle Khanna, Kader Khan and Johnny Lever, yes. Now at 73, Noorani is back in the news for another reason after an arrest linked to a claimed rape and sexual assault case involving a 33-year-old actress. The whole matter has drawn attention because of the serious allegations, plus the continuing police inquiry. Noorani was taken into custody by Malvani Police in the early hours of August 8, after he was reportedly tracked down to a farmhouse in Satara.
