India, May 1 -- Infosys announced on April 30 that board member Nitin Paranjpe has been promoted to the role of non-executive vice chairman. At the same time, chairman Nandan Nilekani made it clear that there are no plans for any leadership change at the top. The planning & modus operandi reportedly will be same with minor changes.

The appointment took effect immediately after being approved by the board, based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. In his new role, Nitin Paranjpe will work closely with the chairman to help guide the board and support the company's long-term strategy.
