India, July 9 -- Justin Verlander has confirmed that the 2026 MLB season will be the final chapter of his illustrious career. The 43-year-old Detroit Tigers pitcher, currently the oldest active player in Major League Baseball, announced his decision on Wednesday after being named a Legend Pick for the American League All-Star roster. A three-time Cy Young Award winner, two-time World Series champion and the 2011 American League MVP, Verlander is widely expected to earn a place in the National Baseball Hall of Fame after retiring.
