India, May 28 -- Jonah Levi, a corrections officer in New York State is going to prison for 25 years. He was involved in the beating of inmate Messiah Nantwi at the Mid-State Correctional Facility. This case got a lot of attention because many prison staff members were implicated in the incident and what happened after. Jonah Levi worked as a corrections officer at the Mid-State Correctional Facility, in Marcy, New York. Prosecutors said he was one of the guards who beat up inmate Messiah Nantwi in March 2025. Messiah Nantwi later died from his injuries.
