India, July 29 -- India's medal tally in weightlifting continued to grow at the 2026 Commonwealth Games as Harjinder Kaur claimed the silver medal in the women's 69kg category. The 29-year-old delivered a superb performance, recording personal-best lifts of 101kg in the snatch and 126kg in the clean and jerk for a combined total of 227kg. She remained in second place after the snatch and successfully held onto that position through the clean and jerk. Canada's Charlotte Simoneau secured gold with a total lift of 240kg, while Australia's Nya Phebe Hayman took bronze with 218kg.
