India, Aug. 21 -- Ethel Caterham has reached another extraordinary milestone, celebrating her 117th birthday on August 21, 2026. Born in Hampshire in 1909, the British supercentenarian has lived through two World Wars, major social and technological changes and the reigns of six British monarchs.

Caterham currently lives at Hallmark Lakeview Care Home in Lightwater, Surrey, where she marked her birthday surrounded by family and friends. She became the world's oldest living person in April 2025 after the death of Brazilian nun Sister Inah Canabarro Lucas at the age of 116.
