India, May 15 -- West Bengal government under the new CM Suvendu Adhikari has suspended three senior IPS officers involved in the RG Kar Medical College rape and murder case. The suspensions were announced almost two years after the horrifying killing of a young doctor in Kolkata that shook the country and triggered widespread outrage and protest demanding justice and accountability. The former Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal, former Deputy Commissioner (Central) Indira Mukherjee and former Deputy Commissioner (North) Abhishek Gupta were suspended.
