India, June 20 -- The wait finally ended for javelin fans as Neeraj Chopra made his long-awaited return to competition after spending time on the sidelines with an injury. Competing at the 2026 Doha Diamond League on Friday, the double Olympic medallist finished fourth with a season-opening best throw of 85.69m, marking a solid comeback on the international stage.

Questions had been swirling around Chopra's participation at the 2026 Commonwealth Games and when he would begin his season.
