India, June 29 -- Delhi and several parts of north India may finally be in for some relief after an unusually hot spell and a delayed monsoon onset this year. The IMD said on Sunday that conditions are turning favourable for the monsoon to advance further across northern states over the next five to six days, even as heatwave conditions are expected to continue in parts of Uttar Pradesh for now. Private weather forecaster Skymet has predicted that Delhi is likely to receive the monsoon by July 4, roughly a week later than usual, while the city continues to deal with intense heat in the meantime.
