India, Oct. 27 -- Most of the United States will turn its clocks back one hour at 2 am on Sunday, 1 November, returning to standard time and giving millions of people an extra hour in bed. Sleep medicine specialists say the autumn change is generally easier on the body than the spring shift, but it can still disrupt routines, especially for early risers and young children.

Under the rules that still govern daylight saving time, clocks will move from 2 a.m. to 1 a.m., and the hour between 1 am and 2 am will occur twice. Hawaii and most of Arizona do not observe daylight saving time and will not change their clocks.

Several Canadian provinces, including British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba, have also stopped changing clocks.
