India, Sept. 8 -- INDIA - September 7, 2026 - Within days of a glacial collapse along the Nepal-China border, China had begun sending emergency supplies, specialized rescue teams, meteorological support and satellite data to Nepal.

The disaster originated in Nepal, where the initial glacial collapse and landslides occurred. Its location near the China-Nepal border meant that the consequences were not confined to the immediate disaster area, with potential risks extending to people and infrastructure on both sides of the border.
