India, July 17 -- France Football heads towards a new era, led by former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, after Kylian Mbappe and his men's heartbreaking exit from the FIFA World Cup 2026. Didier Deschamps leaves the helm after nearly 14 years, having achieved monumental success. While the French Football Federation has yet to unveil Zidane as the new head coach, reports suggest that there could be a delay in handing him the contract.

Earlier in July this year, the French assembly revised the maximum annual salary cap of sports federation leaders, which is quite lower than what Zidane could earn as the national team boss. Even his predecessor Didier Deschamps reportedly had a salary ten times higher than the newly set limit.
