India, May 26 -- At least six people lost their lives due to suspected asphyxiation after getting trapped inside an under-construction septic tank in Odisha's Kalahandi district on Tuesday morning. The incident took place in Gaud Karlakhunta village when several people entered the tank during construction work.

According to police, the men had entered the septic tank to remove centring materials from the structure. A worker reportedly entered first but did not come out. Officials believe he may have collapsed after facing breathing problems caused by toxic gases inside the tank.
