India, May 25 -- Nearly 300 tourists were stranded in the air after the Gulmarg Gondola cable car service went out of service due to a technical issue in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. The sudden halt created panic among visitors, especially families travelling with children. As per reports, the Gondola service developed a technical fault that forces multiple cabins to stop while suspended in the air for a short period.

Soon after the incident, rescue teams from the Army's 9 Raj Rif, Jammu and Kashmir Police, SDRF and civil administration rushed to the site and started evacuation work.
