India, July 16 -- Environmental campaigners in Scotland have coined the term "Franken-Trout" for unusually large wild trout found in several Scottish lochs. According to campaigners, some trout have reached around 9 kg, compared with a typical weight of about 0.45 kg, making them nearly 20 times larger than normal. The phenomenon has been linked to salmon farm feed leaking from net cages used to rear young salmon in the north of Scotland.
