India, March 28 -- India is waking up to a sharp weather contrast on Saturday, as scattered to fairly widespread rainfall and snowfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are forecast to intensify over the Western Himalayan region from 28th through 31st March in association with active Western Disturbances. While plains in the north experience partly cloudy skies and building warmth, mountain regions brace for fresh snowfall and hilly areas prepare for gusty thunderstorms.

Another Western Disturbance is likely to affect northwest India from the night of 28th March 2026, marking the beginning of a peak wet spell that meteorologists expect to intensify dramatically over the next 48 hours.
