India, April 10 -- Weather patterns across India are being driven by the retreat of a western disturbance from North India and the onset of pre-monsoon activity in the South. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for heatwave conditions in parts of Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Telangana, while scattered thunderstorms are expected over Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Northern hills are seeing the last of their snowfall, and a sharp 2-4degC rise in temperatures is expected in the northwest plains over the coming week.
