According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this is part of an active pre-monsoon phase where heat and moisture clash, creating unstable weather systems across the country.

Temperatures in parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat are touching 44degC, while hill states like Uttarakhand are facing strong winds up to 70 kmph along with heavy thunderstorms and at the same time, southern India is receiving scattered rainfall, offering partial relief.
