India, April 1 --  Weather patterns across India are being driven by active western disturbances and cyclonic circulations, creating a stark divide. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms with gusty winds reaching 60-75 km/h in northern and central India, while southern and western states brace for rising heat stress. Northern hills may witness fresh snowfall, and a temporary 2-4degC drop in temperatures is expected in parts of the northwest.
