The Opposition's protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls turned uneasy on Wednesday as Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and several other INDIA bloc MPs were detained by the Delhi Police while attempting to proceed towards Jantar Mantar.

The detention came a day after Opposition parties staged a protest march and dharna at Akashvani Bhawan over the SIR exercise.
