India, Oct. 29 -- Apple's first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, has failed a durability test conducted by YouTuber Zack Nelson of JerryRigEverything, raising questions about how its hinge and flexible inner display handle physical stress.

The device underwent a series of tests covering scratches, heat, dust and bending. While its outer display held up relatively well against scratches, debris interfered with the folding mechanism, and the inner screen suffered permanent damage during the bend test.

The results highlight some of the challenges facing foldable smartphones, whose moving hinges and flexible displays can be more vulnerable to certain types of damage than conventional handsets.
